Acting with Impact – Advanced ( 18 wks )

Acting with Impact is about freeing and empowering the actors instrument & developing craft and technique through exercises and advanced scenework.

This acting course will zero in on each individuals strengths and areas for development. This acting program is 18 weeks in duration. Participants must have previous experience and /or audition for a place.

Course in more detail:

Improvisation

to strengthen storytelling skills, imagination & expressive freedom

Voicework

to understand the vocal apparatus, to ascertain strengths, weaknesses – improve clarity and range – possibilities for vocal characterisation

Movement

1. Understanding of 4 energetic (ki) principles to improve presence and influence, and govern the bodies response under the pressure of nerves/performance.
2. Daily life applications – understanding of big self/small self and their relationship to acting
3. Unification of body and mind for whole body expression.
4. Whole body listening
5. Movement impro to develop awareness of bodies moving in relationship to each other.

Craft and Technique

1. In depth script analysis
2. Exercises to develop understanding and effective use of powerful acting tools
3. Exercises to identify an individuals “comfort zone” and help to expand range of expression
4. Advanced scene-work to apply all principles covered
