Point Break Drama is one of the newest independent drama schools in metropolitan Sydney. Situated in Deewhy, Point Break has provided an acting school of high calibre to the Northern Beaches. The brainchild of Adam Stewart and Paul Winchester Point Break was set up to fill the huge void in acting tuition on the Northern Beaches.

Point Break offers part-time courses to teenagers and adults. Adults can choose from three levels of Acting Basics or take a course in Acting for Camera. Youth drama runs concurrently with the school term and offers students an exciting array of performance styles.

Point break continues to thrive with the introduction of Singing classes for adults and the” How to make your own short film” class, which begins in 2004.

Tutors Adam Stewart and Paul Winchester are professional actors with both having attended prestigious drama schools-Theatre Nepean and the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts respectively.

ADAM STEWART
Bachelor of Arts (Performance)

Adam first appeared on the stage at the age of twelve as “The Fairy Godmother” in a production of Cinderella. His love for Acting took him all the way to the prestigious Theatre Nepean Drama course of the University of Western Sydney where he graduated in 2001. While there he appeared in variety of plays including, “Anthony and Cleopatra”, “Wounds To The Face”, “Comedy of Errors”, and “Don’s Party”.

Since leaving University, he has been seen in “Dogs” and the PACT theatre’s “As You Like It”. His short film Credits include “Sucked Up” and “Life’s A Bitch” and has appeared in numerous television commercials around the world. Adam has worked as a teacher at the Newtown Arts factory as a guest specialist monologue tutor, and in private tutoring for 2yrs. In 2003 Adam appeared in African Gothic for the New Theatre/Old Fitzroy Hotel and Julius Caesar for Fly On the Wall Productions. Adam has directed several plays for Point Break Drama and has been an assistant director at the new theatre, Newtown.

Adams all time favourite movies are “Lawrence Of Arabia”, “Fifth Element”, and “Zardoz”.

PAUL WINCHESTER
Bachelor of Arts (Musical Theatre)

Paul started Acting when he was 11 years old with weekend drama classes – although his mother believes he was clowning around long before that! He took up juggling and uni-cycling in the highschool Circus and in year twelve made his professional debut in the Tele-drama, A Good Time Tonight. Later that year at just 17yrs old Paul was accepted into the highly acclaimed Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts where he studied acting for 3yrs.

He came to Sydney in 1994 to begin his career where he toured with the children’s play Danny in Trouble, Belvoir Street’s Wild Cat Falling and Theatre South’s Hating Alison Ashley. He featured in Sidetracks All In The Timing, and performed at Paramatta’s Big Laugh Comedy festival in 2001/ 02. In 2002 he appeared at the PACT theatre in Shakespeare’s, As You Like It and toured with Ricochet’s sketch comedy, End of the Line. In 2003 Paul appeared in Milton Park at the Bondi Pavillion and played Cassius in Fly On The Wall’s production of Julius Caesar.

For T.V Paul has featured in S.B.S’s Bondi Banquet,playing an Irish Surfie and Stain Glass Fishbowl for the short By the Book. Paul has appeared in many commercials. Most recently he appeared in ads for Macdonlads and St George Bank.

In 2006 Paul produced the short film By the Book for Point Break Drama in collaboration with Ricochet Productions. By the Book went on to win Show-Fest in 2007. Paul appeared in two films to make the final 8 at Action-Fest, 2007. They are Bluff (Co-produced & co-written by Paul) and Eclipsed. Paul has appeared in an array of short films. Other short films include Magnum Opus, TXTD, Stuck In My Head and Jamie with Gilmore Girls Tanc Sade.

Paul worked on the short, Sunday Drivers with Director /writers Shane Abbess and Matt Todd. He will make his feature film debut this year in another Shane Abbess production, Gabriel. Gabriel will get an Australian Cinematic release on November 15th, 2007 and then go global very soon after.
